If You’re Happy + You Know It!

I’m here to share with you my #1 tip for having a GREAT day, every day!

I think most of us will agree that how our day starts out is typically a good indicator of how the rest of our day will go. If we wake up energized and cheerful, we continue to feel that way and spread our cheer to everyone we meet. If we wake up late, we tend to feel rushed and stressed throughout the day ahead. There is one simple thing I like to do to make sure my day gets off to a great start and it has several added benefits as well!

Have you ever seen a child’s face light up when their favorite song turns on and they literally can’t help but start moving and grooving?

Music is something that most everyone has an automatic response to. It can make us feel different emotions depending on the music we’re listening too.

I personally like to wake up and have a mini dance party every day! I know it may seem silly and child-like but that’s kind of the point! 🙂

All it takes is 5-10 minutes(or more if you want)! There are two ways I typically do this.

Create a HAPPY playlist!
I’ve chosen a couple of Parker’s favorite songs that have a great beat and get me smiling first thing in the morning to add to our playlist. The options are obviously endless but our personal playlist includes:
Happy by Pharrell Williams
Uptown Funk by Mark Ronson
Sugar by Maroon 5
You can easily turn on your playlist without interrupting your morning routine. Just go on with your regular schedule but with happy “background noise” and I bet you can’t help but start to dance 🙂

2. Do 10-15 minutes of Dance Cardio
If I’m feeling motivated I turn on a couple of the Fitness Marshall’s videos and start my day off with some FUN and ENERGETIC dance cardio!
The Benefits:
Wakes you up and makes you feel energized
Gets the endorphins flowing
Make this a regular routine and you can burn up to 400 calories in a week! (POPSugar recently caught on to my little secret 😉 you can check out the article here)

I know this seems super simple and obvious but I promise you, it can make a big difference in your daily routine and enhance your mood!

Do this a couple days in a row and tell me how you feel!
